The amazing Spanish city

When you first set foot in Cordoba, the atmosphere that surrounds you is impressive; the old air of the city is still sensed through its streets and the abundance of monuments that come to stay proof of the beauty which ruled over the city in the past is overwhelming.

Cordoba was occupied, in the 11th century, the place of one of the capitals in Europe which had a hard word to say. The Arab fortifications, the bridges, the palaces and the doors that compose the Mezquita are impressive works of art, so you have to visit them. Also visit the La Juderia, which is the old Jewish quarter. The quarter always had a very important role in the cultural and artistic life of the city; Seneca, Averroes and Maimonides, they all left their fingerprints in some of the corners of the quarter.

The museums are other places that have to be on your list; visiting them, you will better understand the history, the economic and cultural life of the city, as well as the artistic movements that brought Cordoba to life.

Eating in Cordoba

Cordoba is definitely a place for gourmets; the cuisine is spectacular, with dozens of traditional dishes which nourish all your senses. The cold soups are perfect throughout the hot season, being the refreshing element that you need. The Jamon, which is actually ham and the sausages are local specialties, so you will find a lot of types containing different ingredients. The desserts are influenced by the Arabs: almonds and honey are the main ingredients for alfajores.
